CORE: The Inclusive Home Hub

Core is a central hub for your home and living experience. Core is designed with neumorphism to provide affordable experience for users of many different ages and background. It is designed to have a clear interface and experience fort the users to control their home with ease and comfort with Core.

Why?

Home is where everyone spends their time. With the appearance of more digital home appliances and technology control, there are many advantages such as hands off control and remote control. Since home is for everyone, inclusivity was the focus of CORE, regardless of age or experience of digital products.

Meet Tim.

Tim sets an example of the inclusivity of CORE.

As a retired architect, he is critical about his home. He is an avid learner of the new technology, and wishes to operate his home easier since he is struggling with knee and back pain. With CORE, he feels so much more comfortable at home.

Meet Julia.

Julia is a busy accountant in New York. She is barely home, and has no time to take care of her home. CORE is her best friend when it comes to her busy morning. She uses CORE to control her home hands free.

Introducing CORE

The Process.

The idea started off with modifying the current home hub on the market with adding the skeuomorphic design to the hub. With skeuomorphic designs I tried to portray inclusivity within the home hub experience.

Along the way user test was conducted in order to refine the UI and UX. Users were selected so that they meet the main function of the Hub.

Versions

There will be updates to provide several versions of the hub. There will be added technologies such as voice recognition, scheduled tasks, and more.

Personalization

Core is all about personalization, where users can change organizations, actions, and ui that meets their comfort. Core plans to implement all the personalizing options into the Hub.

Connectivity

Since Core is a hub that connects with digital appliances, the experience of connecting the appliance would be modified as the versions are updated, and depending on the appliances, the interaction of hub can be personalized.

Insights.

All users especially with limitations and different experiences require different personalizations.

Neumorphic and designs that replicate physical objects can offer more understanding and comfort of using digital interfaces to users who aren’t experienced online.

For people that is new to digital products, common micro-interactions might not be too common for them.

Digital products have the power of unlimited distribution as well as unlimited improvisation and updates.
